    Poulan 20″ chain saw

I have owned Poulan chain saws for many years and like their durability and power. The Poulan 20″ performs very well and is light weight. I like the tool less feature for attaching the bar but wish the knob for tightening the chain was easier to use. It hurts my fingers when I try to tighten the chain. Over all I am impressed with the saw.

Hope my second one is as good as the first.

My first Poulan chainsaw was the model 2900 and it gave me 14 years of service without a problem. I ordered the PP4620AV when the 2900 got hard to start and lost power. If this saw performs as well, I will be very satisfied. So far it starts easily and has good power, so I am hopeful. After it arrived, I took the needle valves out of my old 2900 and sprayed carb cleaner into the holes and now I have 2 good running Poulans. Total repair costs on my fourteen 2900 have been under $25, but I am considering a new drive sprocket. Even that is my fault, because I let the chain get too loose and it jumped off the bar while cutting some brush. I have to say that Poulan makes a great saw for the price.

Have never been a believer in economy saws but this saw is making me a believer.

I baught this saw when my Stihl was in the shop and I needed an extra saw. It isn’t exactly professional grade, but far better in quality than I expected. The power to weight ratio is good for the novice user. Very light weight and almost no impact on the user’s wrists and shoulders due to the coil spring handle mounts. The chain that comes on the saw is a little mild for serious hardwood cutting but more than ample. I have had this saw about two weeks now and have put at least 12-15 hrs of run time on it without a complaint. Also, unlike many economy saws – this saw sports a real fuel tank and oil reserve. Will run over a half hour to the fill-up. Would recommend to any winter wood cutter or Christmas tree farmer.
